marine.10BoatIf you are interested in boating but aren’t quite able to afford a brand new yacht or sailboat, it is okay. You don’t need to have a fancy boat in order to enjoy the open water. You can use an inflatable boat. It may not sound incredibly grand but an inflatable boat is perfect for a day of fishing with a friend, just hanging out on the water, or even a humble, yet romantic float on the lake.

An inflatable boat is a perfect starter boat, primarily because it is relatively inexpensive. You won’t have to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars getting one set up. Instead, you can have a great one for well under a thousand dollars. Granted, it isn’t wise to sail around the world in one, but you can still have plenty of fun for a little amount of money. You don’t need to buy any navigational equipment. You don’t even need to buy gas unless you decide to buy a small motor and your boat is big enough to support it.

Another great thing is that getting the boat ready to hit the water is easy. All you need to do is inflate it and it is ready to go. Usually the boat comes with a pump so that you have everything you need to get started. If it doesn’t come with a pump, finding one that will work with the boat is easy. Most sporting goods stores have them and sell them at a fair price.

Getting the boat to the water is a cinch. Since the boat can be deflated, you can actually carry it inside of your car. Or, if you already have it inflated, you can tie it down to the roof of your car. You don’t need a truck and a trailer to haul one of these boats because they are lightweight and compact. However, even though they are lightweight, they are still stable when out on the water.

Plus, they will get you from point A to point B a lot faster than you think they would, even if you are only using paddles to propel them. Since they aren’t huge boats with a lot of mass, they don’t need a lot of power to move them.

Of course, you don’t want to use an inflatable boat as a life raft. That isn’t what they are made for. They are made for having fun while maintaining affordability, a quick and simple setup, ease of portability, and effortless navigation. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a perfect recipe for fun to me.
